The player who three-putts first in the round becomes the "Snake". From then on, anytime a player three-putts, they become the new "Snake". The player who is the "Snake" at the end of the round typically has to pay a predetermined amount to each of the other players.

Each time someone three-putts they take ownership of the Snake and receives the coin, that way whoever is holding the Snake Coin at the end loses.
